The Parade
The parade will start to form up from about 12pm. The trans walking group will get our final position just before 12pm. Please feel free to wait at the café until then. The parade usually starts after 1pm and arrives in Trafalgar Square at about 3pm.
The Rally in Trafalgar Square
Stall: We have a stall in Trafalgar Square as a meeting place and a place for leaflet distribution.
Main Stage: There will be two trans elements on the main stage. We have Professor Stephen Whittle who will talk about trans issues to the crowd and we will have a performance from the Trans band The Pretty Route. These two should be on stage around 6.30pm. There will be other acts and speakers all afternoon.
Other trans happenings this afternoon:
Women’s and BME Stages: Shelley Cooper will be performing comedy on the Women’s Stage and DJ Scratch will be performing music in the BME Stage.
Need a sit down and a cup of tea?
There is a really nice café in the National Gallery just behind Trafalgar Square. Also St Martin’s in the Fields, the church you can see from Trafalgar Square, has a café downstairs. Of course there are lots of cafés along the marching route.
What about this evening?
There are a lot of parties and events going on this evening. Take a look at the Pride Magazine. We can recommend the following:
Everyone is invited to Celebrate FIVE years of GenderBending..... at the Wotever Birthday Party!
A message from Ingo: Hi my darlings, can you believe it! WE have made it to FIVE! The club for all drag kings, femmes, trans, gays, butches, queers, friends & admirers. We couldn't possibly let this go unnoticed and uncelebrated....so we put the BIGGEST PARTY we ever done together.... with plenty of old favourites, new friends and heeps of fun and frolics. The first part of the party is open for all ages, after a request to help Trans Youth to find a space and place to party after the parade, but this will also suit all of you with children (and/or a childish mind) who have walked the march! Make it a proper Birthday Party! With your Queer Wotever Family.

5pm – midnight @ The Horseshoe, 24 Clerkenwell Close, London EC1R 0AG (nearest tubes Farringdon and Barbican).

We thought it would be cool and appropriate to return to one of our old favourite venues; THE HORSESHOE! This relaxed pub with pub prices, big beer-garden and pool table (there were two - but no there is one plus plenty of dart boards ;-)) To this early evening party you are welcome to bring in your own food and/or order from any of the Take Away menus we have collected! There will be live music by Mr Meredith, Happenings and plenty of cake!
You can travel by bus 19 & 38 between the parties!
